Pro-business Pittston Township has been a leader in industrial park development for decades.  All or part of five major Northeastern Pennsylvania business parks have been built in the township.  These include CenterPoint Commerce & Trade Park East,CenterPoint Commerce & Trade Park West, Grimes Industrial Park, O’Hara Industrial Park, and Quackenbush Industrial Estates.

These five parks, located just off of I-81 and I-476, together house more than 100 companies and close to 10,000 employees.

Some of the better-known companies with industrial and/or office operations in Pittston Township include Amazon.com, The Home Depot, Geisinger, TJ Maxx, Cascades Tissue Group, Level 3, DISH Network, Bimbo Bakeries, Greiner Packaging USA, FedEx Ground, FedEx Express, NFI, A. Duie Pyle, Coca Cola, and UPS.

In addition, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with direct daily service to Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Detroit, Newark, Pittsburgh, Washington DC, and Philadelphia is located in the township.
